PUB, Singapore’s National Water Agency, commonly known as PUB, an acronym for Public Utilities Board, is a statutory board under the Ministry of Sustainability and the Environment of the Government of Singapore responsible for ensuring a sustainable and efficient water supply in Singapore.
These are photographs featuring the PUB team checking up on the floating solar panel systems at Bedok Reservoirs. These 1.5 megawatt-peak (MWp) systems, constructed by local group BBR Greentech as part of a tender awarded by the national water agency PUB, will directly power vital facilities, including Bedok Waterworks and raw water pumping stations. The electricity generated, equivalent to that consumed by approximately 800 four-room Housing Board flats annually, will significantly reduce carbon emissions by about 1.5 kilotonnes each year – an environmental impact akin to removing 300 cars from the road.
